28 Ridge Street, Glens Falls, NYJuly 9 - August 5, 2013
Reception: July 18, 2013, 5-7 p.m.

Art in the Public Eye will present an exhibition of photographs, altered digital prints, and polymer clay jewelry by Queensbury artist Sara Pearsall entitled, From the Garden at Minky Mink in downtown Glens Falls. The exhibition will open on July 9 and continue through August 5, 2013. A reception will be held at Minky Mink as part of the Third Thursday Art Walk on July 18, from 5 to 7 p.m.

From the Garden will feature photographs, altered digital prints and polymer clay jewelry sets inspired by the perennial garden at the artist's home. All of the artwork incorporates the colors, textures and beauty blooming in the garden. The photographs and altered digital prints are a series of floral macro images. Each of the polymer clay jewelry sets is designed using different polymer clay beads that intrepret the textures and colors of the flowers. The perennial garden is an important piece of the artist’s daily life and this exhibit captures its beauty. During the Third Thursday art walk reception Sara will demonstrate working with polymer to create one of a kind beads and jewelry pieces that coordinate with an outfit selected from the fashions available at Minky Mink.

Sara Pearsall works with three distinct artistic pursuits; photography, printing inks & polymer clay. The photographs & prints are vibrant images of nature, the Adirondacks & the outdoors. The jewelry features handmade polymer clay beads incorporating the colors & textures found in nature. Sara has been working with photography and digital imagery for over 18 years and has balanced her studio work with polymer clay jewelry since 2002. The prints and polymer clay designs are often linked, sometimes the connections between the mediums are as obvious as an image transfer or as simple as a color. Sara has had numerous group and solo shows in the greater Glens Falls and Adirondack region.
